Gabriel Bourque wore this sweater while serving as captain of the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in 2008.
Bourque was in his NHL Draft eligible season, and worked his way into being the 132nd selection in the 5th round of the 2009 NHL Draft by the Nashville Predators.
The Quebec native scored 61 points in 60 games for Baie-Comeau.
Gabby’s jersey has solid wear consisting of board burns and stick/puck marks throughout.
The front of the jersey has stick/puck marks below and beside the crest, and the crest itself also has a mark in the sails of the logo. The captain’s “C” looks to have either been removed or to have replaced a different letter as there is residue visible and the stitching is pretty poor.
The sleeves have a few burns on the left sleeve has an unrepaired hole.
The back of the jersey has a few marks in the numbers and two very dark stick marks on the back of the left sleeve. The right sleeve #4 also has a mark near the bottom.
Gabby spent parts of five seasons with the Nashville Predators and eight years in total in the organization.
He was never a big producer, but was a solid energy guy whom you could slot in at the end of the lineup to give you a few good minutes.
Bork’s jersey is an interesting addition to the captain’s collection, and only the second junior hockey captain’s jersey I’ve owned.
