Arizona State Sun Devils alumni Joey Daccord wore this white jersey during his first professional season as he split time between the Brampton Beast and the Belleville Senators.
The Ottawa draft pick was fresh off an incredible season with the Sun Devils where he became the first ASU alumni to play in the NHL. For a young hockey program, Daccord’s progress has been a vital part of ASU’s own early success.
Daccord spent some time early in the 2019-2020 season with the Brampton Beast in the ECHL before returning to Belleville for an extended stint. He acquitted himself well with a .915 save percentage in 24 appearances.
Daccord recorded his first AHL shutout in this jersey on January 11th, 2020 against Utica and the jersey is photomatched to that game as well as a few others from the second half of the season.
Being a white gamer, there’s a nice smattering of puck marks on both sleeves and on the front of the jersey. The left sleeve shoulder patch has two nice marks, as well.
The jersey has Belleville’s team tagging in the hem.
I’ve chased Daccord’s gamers from his time at ASU and in the Sens organization so it’s neat to finally have one.
To my knowledge, his ASU jerseys were not made available or sold by the team so his professional jerseys are all there are to collect.
The 24-year-old netminder has apparently impressed enough that he just signed a new three-year deal to stay in Ottawa, with the third year being a one-way contract. With Matt Murray now in net and signed long term, it will be interesting to watch how Daccord’s new contract plays out.
