Josh Doan had a whirlwind end to the 2022-2023 season as a member of the Tucson Roadrunners.
He served as the captain of the Arizona State Sun Devils in 2022-2023 before deciding to turn pro in March after season’s end.
After signing his contract with the Arizona Coyotes, Doan was sent to the AHL and the Roadrunners where he played in 14 regular season games, scoring 3 goals and 3 assists. He also played in 3 playoff games, tallying 1 assist.
He quickly acclimated to the new surroundings and seems set to be a very impactful player for the Meeps next season.
The Tucson Roadrunners wore their El Lazo de Tucson jerseys on January 20th, March 3rd, and on April 14th, 2023.
Josh Doan only wore this jersey in the April 14th game since he did not play his first professional game until mid March. He scored a goal in the 3rd period against the San Jose Barracuda in this sweater.
Doan’s jersey has very light wear with a pick/pull or two and some light wash wear in the crest and numbers. The right sleeve has some very faint stick marks, and the nameplate has some glue residue on it as well as a long loose thread off the bottom.
There is one more loose thread on the AZ shoulder patch.
His jersey (and other El Lazo gamers) are to be able to be photomatched thanks to the break in the rope pattern where the sleeves of the jersey are sewn together to the body of the jersey. Many of the breaks are individual to the specific jersey in size or direction, so it’s not too hard to identify. In that way they are very similar to the unique patterns found on the Arizona Coyotes’ kachina jerseys.
Most of the El Lazo jerseys appear to have at least one break that is unique and sometimes both are unique.
