Kevin Klein was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and spent parts of nine seasons defending the blue line for the Nashville Predators.
Klein was a solid stay-at-home defenseman who routinely pushed 20 minutes per game in his prime in Nashville and in New York.
The Canadian defender wore this jersey during my very first in-person Nashville Predators game on February 14th, 2013 against the Phoenix Coyotes. He played 21:25 in the contest and finished +1 as Pekka Rinne pitched a shutout.
Nashville wore it’s Gold Set 1 jerseys in 13 games from January 19th, 2013 to March 9th, 2013 during the lockout shortened 2012-2013 season.
Kevin Klein played in all 13 games scoring 0 goals and 2 assists. Klein’s jersey was not worn in all 13 games but was instead worn in 12 games, however. He appears to have had a fresh jersey for the March 9th, 2013 game against Minnesota.
The jersey has light but visible wear with a large repair on the right sleeve showing up in photos from eight different games, including the February 14th game.
There are also stick marks below the crest, in the left armpit, and above the right collarbone. The sides of the jersey also have some light stick marks. You can also see a scuff on the back #8.
These jerseys featured actual sewn sublimated letters on the nameplate instead of being a fully sublimated nameplate which became common in later years.
