Viktor Arvidsson set the franchise record for goals scored in a season for the Nashville Predators in 2018-2019. He did some of that scoring in this jersey.
Arvy wore this away sweater in the final seven games of the regular season, scoring 4 goals and adding 2 assists en route to setting the new record. It was also worn for three games in the playoffs, but Arvidsson didn’t get on the scoresheet in those games.
The Swedish winger chased Jason Arnott’s 2008-2009 single season record of 33 goals throughout the final months of the 2018-2019 season. It had been tied previously by Filip Forsberg in 2015-2016, however outside of Arnott and Forsberg’s seasons the Preds had only had a 30 goal scorer five other times.
Two of those were Viktor Arvidsson (2016-2017) and Filip Forsberg again (2016-2017).
Arvy breaking the record was a surprise because of how he did it.
34 goals in just 58 games. Imagine what he could have done if he’d been healthy throughout?
The wear on this game worn Arvidsson jersey is pretty light, which is atypical of his gamers.
There is only a small cluster of about 2-3 repairs on the right sleeve and none on the left sleeve. There is an unrepaired hole on the left sleeve and a two inch stick mark, however. The right sleeve also features a huge slash mark below the sleeve numbers from a stick.
The body and sleeves have small puck and stick marks throughout, including a few marks in the hem on the back.
The lack of wear can likely be attributed to the small number of games played in this jersey (ten games) compared to a typical set. That’s sort of how this hobby goes, however. No two jerseys are alike.
If the Preds have any luck, Arvy and Forsberg will continue battling for the goal scoring record and hopefully raise it up into the 40’s before they leave their primes. If not, well, at least we’ll have Arvidsson’s incredible run in 2018-2019.
