Calle Jarnkrok wore this navy set “3-Rink Rush” warmup jersey during the warmups before Seattle Kraken’s first ever preseason game on September 26th, 2021.
The jerseys were embroidered with a special patch that commemorated the team’s trip throughout the state of Washington during the 2021-2022 NHL preseason.
With Climate Pledge Arena not quite ready for prime time, the team chose to stage their preseason games in other rinks around the state to showcase the team and build a groundswell of support.
The team played in Everett, WA and Kent, WA, as well as in Spokane in it’s inaugural preseason game.
Every jersey was adorned with the #21 and “KRAKEN” on the nameplate as a nod to the team’s first season in existence in the National Hockey League.
Sadly, not a whole lot of pictures made it out of the Spokane rink from warmups, so I do not have one of Jarnkrok wearing the sweater.
What I do have, however, is a whole lot of pictures of the sweater itself.
I’ve seen several reports that the new Primegreen MiC’s don’t feel much different than regular MiC’s from adidas but I have to differ.
They feel even stiffer and scratchier to my touch. The fit doesn’t look like it’s really any different, however.
One thing that is very noticeable on these sweaters is that the sleeve numbers are humongous. There’s been a ton of people talking and memeing about how the Kraken crest is huge, but at least on these sweaters it seems to be in proportion. Those sleeve numbers are chunky as heck, though, and would eat your regular MiC’s sleeve numbers for a snack.
Jarny signed this thing on the back numbers and the equipment manager also put his #19 inside the neck of the sweater.
Hopefully we’ll get to see the former Predators utility man make his debut in Seattle soon.
