Colin Theisen made the decision to transfer to Arizona State University from Notre Dame for his graduate degree after falling in love with the Sun Devils coaching staff and their more offensive playstyle.
Theisen was named captain after the season began and utilized that offensive freedom to set a school record in points scored in a season with 42.
That scoring prowess combined with his leadership saw him named the team MVP after the season.
He spent much of the season with Josh Doan on ASU’s top line and finished 2021-2022 with 19 goals and 23 assists which were both the second most in each category on the team.
Sun Devils hockey wore their brand new white jerseys in 6 games in 2021-2022 after unveiling them prior to the start of the season. They were added to the jersey rotation to replace the former white home jerseys from the second generation of ASU sweaters.
In general, Arizona State wore these new white jerseys very sparingly as they were superseded by the variety of white-based jerseys introduced beginning in 2021-2022 such as the club retro, the Vegas gold, the Barry Bonds/baseball, and the digi flame sets.
Colin Theisen wore this sweater in all 6 games while scoring 1 goal and 7 assists for 8 points in the jersey.
Theisen wore this jersey with the captain’s “C” and also without the “C” early in the season. Johnny Walker still had the captain’s “C” early on in the 2021-2022 campaign before it was given to Colin Theisen. I’ve been unable to pin down exactly when that happened, however.
Colin Theisen’s White Set game worn jersey has nice wear for it’s 6 games of use.
The left sleeve has stick and puck marks up and down the length of the sleeve and a large red paint transfer mark. There are three unrepaired holes (two large, one small). On the right sleeve there are several stains that could be blood and another smattering of stick/puck marks up and down the sleeve. There is also one unrepaired hole.
This jersey has a solid amount of stick marks on the front on both sides of the crest. It also features one of the most gorgeous captain’s C’s in hockey with the maroon “C” inside a maroon state outline that is filled in white.
The back of the jersey has some small stick/puck marks but is otherwise clean.
Inside the back hem is a set tag proclaiming this jersey as an Arizona State Authentic Game Jersey. The tag states it was customized by Exclusive Pro Sports and that the head equipment manager at that time was Jon Laughner.
