James Sanchez arrived at Arizona State and immediately found a rapport with Sun Devils star Johnny Walker en route to tallying the highest scoring season in school history.
The Illinois native scored 10 goals and added 30 assists for 40 points to lead the team in scoring and etch his name into the record books. Sanchez centered a dynamite top line with Walker that saw the two light up the stat sheet.
He followed up his first season in the desert with a team MVP award winning performance in 2020-2021. Sanchez had just 5 goals and 11 assists in 26 games that season as the Sun Devils played the entire campaign on the road in the Big 10 Conference due to the pandemic.
On January 9th, 2021 against Notre Dame, James Sanchez assisted on Johnny Walker’s goal that saw him become the second Arizona State player to reach 100 points. He was wearing this jersey that night.
The Arizona State Sun Devils hockey program wore their gold alternate jerseys in 9 games in 2019-2020 from October 5th, 2019 through February 15th, 2020. They also wore their gold alternates in 2 games in 2020-2021. Those dates were January 9th, 2021 and January 16th, 2021.
James Sanchez’s jersey has pretty solid wear for one of these gold sweaters since he wore it in both seasons.
The right sleeve has several burns that are basically holes, as well as stick/puck marks below the elbow bands. There is a puck mark on the right collarbone.
On the left sleeve there are three good sized unrepaired holes and one large repair that is about 3” long. The elbow area and just above have some pulls, and stick/puck marks are all over the area below the elbow as well.
There are loose threads throughout the ARIZONA STATE wordmark crest, and a stickmark or two on the front hem.
The back of the jersey is clean. These gold alternates featured perforated numbers on the back and sleeves.
