Jason Arnott gave the Preds production from the center position that was mostly unmatched until the arrival of Ryan Johansen. His final year with the organization, 2009-2010, was his least productive however.
In four seasons in Nashville, Arnott was always near the top of the team in scoring.
He led the team to the playoffs in two of his three years as captain, and set the team single season goal-scoring record at 33 in the 2008-2009 season.
He wasn’t the most popular guy on Broadway, but when he was on he was one of the best offensive players to line up at center in the team’s 20+ year history.
The Nashville Predators wore their Navy Set 3 jerseys for 8 total games from March 18th, 2010 through the end of their playoff run (5 regular season, 3 playoff games).
Arnott played in just four of those contests due to injury (3/18, 4/20, 4/22, 4/26). He scored 3 goals and 1 assist in those 4 games. His jersey does not have a ton of wear due to that.
There is a large stick mark on the left sleeve near the sleeve numbers. There are also a few faint puck marks in the sleeves below the elbows. The back right hem of the sweater has stick marks as well. There are no repairs on the jersey.
Despite some visible marks, the only way I was able to photomatch this jersey was via the captain’s “C”.
The team was much less uniform with their customization in those days so in each of the three navy/home sets, the “C” is sewn on in a different location.
This is not the first Arnott I’ve owned where I had to match it to the location of a patch or letter.
Despite most of the Arnott game worn jerseys I’ve owned having visible wear, it never seems to show up. I do wonder if that may be because most of it is in the silver material that was on this era of Reebok Edge gamers, but given I’ve mainly only owned his gamers in this style I don’t have much to cross reference it with.
It’s not patched and it only saw a few games, but given it was worn in Arnott’s final game as a Predator, it’s a neat addition to the captain’s collection.
