Jaxon Castor was a regular in net for the Dubuque Fighting Saints, but in his rookie season (2015-2016) he was the backup to future Coyotes prospect Hunter Miska.
Dubuque found themselves in the midst of another successful season, culminating in a run for the Clark Cup final against the Tri-City Storm. They were ultimately swept in the series and Hunter Miska played every minute, however Castor’s jersey still features the Clark Cup final patch as he was the backup.
Castor finished the season with an .890 save percentage in 15 appearances.
Castor's white set gamer has a tremendous amount of wear, puck marks, and general rink filth. Part of that is the brand and style of jersey (OT Sports), which tend to become dingy in this way in my experience. The wear makes for some nice collecting.
The front of this sweater is littered in puck marks. The sleeves, the right breast, the bottom right front, and the left shoulder and breast area in particular have several nice marks that are visible in multiple photos.
There is an unrepaired hole at the bottom of the right sleeve and another unrepaired area on the topmost red band running across the front. The Clark Cup final patch is on the right breast. The jersey itself is fairly dingy where the wear is located which seems fairly common in these OT Sports brand jerseys.
The back has a bit more wear and the same dinginess, particularly in the sleeves.
Jaxon Castor is a Phoenix, AZ native and former Jr. Coyotes standout who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2015 USHL Draft by Dubuque.
He originally committed to play for the Arizona State Sun Devils before eventually ending up at St. Cloud State where he has served as the backup for the past three seasons.
