Michael Bunting wore this jersey for the Tucson Roadrunners during the 2018-2019 season as he became the first player in franchise history to tally 100 points.
Bunting has remained a consistent scoring threat for the Meeps throughout his professional career in the Arizona Coyotes organization, scoring more than 40 points in each of the past three seasons.
Finally, after some questions about his dedication and commitment were addressed, he received a long look with the Coyotes and turned that into 10 goals and 13 points in 21 games.
It’s safe to say he will likely be an NHL regular next season with a modest raise to boot.
Bunting’s jersey has pretty solid marking on the both sleeves. The right sleeve also has an unrepaired hole in the elbow which has been photomatched, and the left sleeve has one repair. There is a march below the alternate captain’s “A” and near the Roadrunner logo’s nose that has also produced a match or two.
Bunting has spent longer in Tucson than he’d probably prefer, however his growth from year one to year three down there earned him a letter on his chest.
He’s always been able to chip in the goals with his gritty, net-front play, but he’s really taking it to the next level now.
He finished the season with 19 goals and 22 assists for 41 points.
Bunting made his first AHL All-Star team in 2018-2019.
If he can score at the same clip in a full season as he did in his 21 game NHL stint, he might find himself in an All-Star game at the NHL level before too long.
