Shea Weber is easily one of the greatest Predators to don the sweater.
He bridged the gap from the old guard and the hard-working, gritty, grinding Preds to the more offensive units under Peter Laviolette. #6 would have likely been the first number in the rafters prior to his trade to Montreal.
Weber was a favorite son in Nashville and the love affair really started with the 2006-2007 season.
Shea Weber burst into his full-time NHL hockey career with a banner season for Nashville.
He scored an astounding 17 goals from the blue line in his first full season, and chipped in another 23 assists. It was an incredible season statistically for a first year defender.
This mustard game worn jersey has pretty light wear as seems to be the case with most mustards.
The Preds wore these throughout the entire season from October 14th, 2006 all the way to April 5th, 2007 in 13 games. Weber dressed for all 13 games and scored 5 goals and 7 assists in this sweater.
There are just a few light marks and board burns in the sleeves of Weber’s jersey. There’s also a burn or slight pull on the shoulder, but beyond that the jersey is fairly clean.
Weber’s stellar debut led to 9 more seasons of excellence in navy and gold before David Poile shipped him out. It will always be an interesting what if regarding what might have been if he had stayed through the Laviolette era.
